School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Evergreen, AL (Conecuh County Schools)
Compensation: $36.00 / Hour
Job Type: Part-Time (Contract)
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our special education team in Evergreen, AL. This part-time role is focused on providing life-changing therapy to students within the Conecuh County School System. You will work directly with students who have speech, language, and communication disorders, helping them bridge the gap between their challenges and their academic potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct Intervention: Deliver individual and group speech therapy sessions to a diverse K-12 student population, focusing on articulation, language delays, and fluency.
- Evaluation & Diagnosis: Conduct formal screenings and diagnostic evaluations to determine student eligibility for speech-language services.
- IEP Team Leadership: Develop and monitor Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals; attend IEP meetings to provide clinical insights and progress updates to parents and staff.
- Classroom Integration: Collaborate with teachers to implement "push-in" therapy strategies and suggest classroom modifications that support communicative success.
- Regulatory Documentation: Utilize the SETS (Special Education Tracking System) to maintain compliant service logs, progress reports, and evaluation summaries.
- Professional Consultation: Act as a resource for families in the Evergreen community, providing guidance on how to support speech development at home.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Licensure: * Current Alabama State License issued by ABESPA.
- Valid ALSDE Class A Professional Educator Certificate in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Education: Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
- Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred; Clinical Fellows (CFY) with a strong educational background may be considered.
- Compliance: Must pass the Alabama state-mandated criminal history background check and fingerprinting (ASBI/FBI).
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to navigate digital documentation systems and a firm understanding of IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) regulations.
